Turmeric is used in Ayurvedic medicine to stimulate and protect the digestive organs.It also has many anti-inflammatory properties as well as is loaded with antioxidants, making it an all-around good thing.If you're already suffering from a cold, we suggest you mix turmeric in a glass of water with some lemon.For a tastier treat, try this recipe with cashew milk (directions below!)
Ingredients

1/4 cup PRANA organic fair trade ground turmeric

1/2 cup filtered water

1/2 tsp PRANA organic fair trade whole black pepper, ground

1 cup PRANA organic non-roasted cashews
-
5 cups filtered water

1 pinch PRANA unrefined Algarve sea salt

Drizzle maple syrup, to taste

1 cup of cashew milk (or almond or coconut milk)

1 teaspoon of coconut oil
-
1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger
-
1 teaspoon of ground cardamom
-
1/4 teaspoon (or more) of turmeric paste

A pinch of ground vanilla

Maple syrup to taste

Homemade Cashew Milk
For the Golden Milk
Directions
Turmeric Paste
Prepare the turmeric paste by mixing all the ingredients in a small saucepan.
Heat over medium for 3 to 4 minutes maximum, stirring constantly until the mixture becomes a thick paste.
Let cool and keep in a small airtight container in the refrigerator.
Store for up to 10 days.
Homemade Cashew Milk
Soak the cashews for 30 minutes. Drain, discard water and rinse
Mix the cashews, water, salt and maple syrup in a food processor or blender until smooth and creamy.
Store in a Mason jar in the fridge for up to 7 day
For the Golden Milk
In a small saucepan, mix all the ingredients and heat for several minutes.
Once heated, transfer to the blender and mix for several seconds so the ingredients emulsify.
Recipe Note
For a quick anti-inflammatory & antioxidant fix, you can mix 1 tbsp of the turmeric paste with a cup of hot water and a squeeze of lemon juice!
