We love homemade almond milk for how easy and delicious it is. Homemade almond milk is nothing like the one you'll find in stores. It's richer, fresher and naturally has a tasty true almond flavour! When you make your own almond milk, you're more aware of the process, the product, and the by-product of your recipe. You don't need much more than water and almonds to make delicious almond milk at home. Soaking makes the process easier, but it can be skipped if you're in a pinch for time. Just make sure you rinse them before adding them to your food processor. If desired, add maple syrup or dates as a sweetener, or even some vanilla extract to add flavour! Once the base of the almond milk is ready, you can add other ingredients of your choice to create different flavours. Try cacao, coffee or our favourite: matcha tea!
Ingredients
-
1 cup PRANA organic raw European almonds
-
5 cups filtered water
-
1 pinch PRANA unrefined Algarve sea salt
-
1/2 tbsp maple syrup
-
2 tbsp good quality matcha tea powder
Directions
Soak the almonds for 4 hours or overnight. Drain, discard the water and rinse.
Mix the almonds and the filtered water in a high-speed blender for about 1 minute.
Filter with a nut milk bag. Press the bag well to extract as much milk as possible.
Pour the milk back into the food processor.
Add the salt, maple syrup and the matcha tea powder, and mix for a few seconds.
